DENVER - Colorado State coach Sonny Lubick said a decision on whether he will remain for a 16th season is likely in the next couple of days.

The Rams (3-9) ended a 13-game losing streak that dated to last season with a 48-23 win over UNLV on Oct. 20. They started the season 0-6.

“Obviously we have had two seasons in a row that we would not like to have and the university would not like to have,” Lubick said Saturday on his TV show. “I think something will be resolved one way or another within about two or three days.”

Under the 70-year-old Lubick, the Rams have won or shared six conference titles since 1994, the best in the Mountain West Conference. The Fort Collins team was in the Western Athletic Conference before 1999. He has taken the team to nine bowl games.

There has been no outcry from the alumni to get rid of him, which often precedes the firing of coaches.
